German writer. Name variations: (stage name) Rahel Sanzara. Born Feb 9, 1894 in Jena, Germany; died Feb 8, 1936, in Berlin.
Under stage name Rahel Sanzara, began appearing on the stages of Prague, Darmstadt, and Berlin as a dancer (1918); as an actress, made film debut (1917); wrote the novel, Das verlorene Kind (The Lost Child, 1926), about the rape and murder of 4-year-old girl, which went through several editions (because of her Jewish-sounding name, her book was banned in Nazi Germany).
