Made stage debut in London in Peter Pan, followed by Easy Virtue (1926); other plays include Baa Baa Black Sheep, While Parents Sleep, Admirals All, After October, Three Blind Mice, Life with Father, Fortune Came Smiling and Room with a View; made film debut in Adam's Apple (1928), followed by Alibi, When London Sleeps, Mannequin, Birds of a Feather, Black Limelight and North Sea Patrol.
