Playwright, recognized in her day as one who defied traditions, wrote and starred in own plays, which include Tragic Life, Lin Li (1925), and Patricide; her love letters to Yang Sao (1924–32) were compiled as short pieces of prose and entitled Zuoye (Last Night, 1995).
