Appeared on Yiddish stage for 50 years; on Broadway, credits include Did I Say No, Good Neighbors, All You Need is One Good Break, Highway Robbery, Abie's Irish Rose and The Golem; made film debut in Broken Hearts (1926), followed by The Heart of New York and Faithless, among others.
