American poet. Born Julia Rowana Howe in Rome, Italy, 1844; died 1886; dau. of Samuel Gridley Howe and Julia Ward Howe (1819–1910); sister of Laura E. Richards and Maud Howe Elliott; m. M. Anagnos (superintendent of the Perkins Institute for the Blind in Boston, MA), 1870.
Wrote Stray Chords (1883) and Philosophiae Quaestor.
