Pteris
Pteris (family Adiantaceae) A genus of ferns with creeping rhizomes and long pinnae, continuously bordered by sori, which are protected only by the recurved margins of the pinna (without an inner membranaceous indusium, as in Pteridium). The genus is largely tropical. There are about 250 species.
