Latania
Latania (family Palmae) A genus of big fan palms in which the leaves are greyish and stiff. The plants are dioecious. The inflorescence consists of pendulous spikes. The fruits contain 1–3 stony seeds. There are 3 species, occurring in the Mascarene Islands (Indian Ocean). They are widely cultivated.
