Labrador Current

Labrador Current An oceanic current that brings cold Arctic waters southwards into the North Atlantic along the western margin of Greenland. Frequently it carries icebergs southwards, concentrating them in the area to the east of the Grand Banks in late spring to early summer. Fog banks often occur off the coast of Newfoundland where the Labrador Current meets the Gulf Stream.
