Kneriidae
Kneriidae (subclass Actinopterygii, order Gonorynchiformes) A small family of freshwater fish that have a single dorsal fin opposite the ventral fins, a slender body, and a low-slung mouth with a protractile upper jaw. They have an accessory respiratory organ and can climb over land, e.g. to negotiate waterfalls. There are about 12 species, found in tropical Africa.
