Isonidae
Isonidae (subclass Actinopterygii, order Atheriniformes) A small family of marine fish, closely related to the silver-sides (Atherinidae), that are often found close to the surf zone. Iso hawaiiensis, a small (10 cm) fish with large eyes, a small mouth, and small first dorsal and pelvic fins, is typical of the family. There are about six species, in the Indo-Pacific region.
