Hoplopleuridae (order Phthiraptera, suborder Anoplura) Family of sucking lice which are parasitic on Rodentia, Insectivora, and Lagomorpha. They are very slender and hold on to single hairs of their host, so their detection and removal is difficult. There are five genera, with 132 species.
