1. A Triassic age, preceded by the Ladinian, followed by the Norian, and dated at 235–223.4 Ma ( Harland et al., 1989).

2. The name of the corresponding European stage, roughly contemporaneous with the Banan (China), and Oretian and Otamitan (New Zealand).
