Carlsbad twin The mineral orthoclase feldspar forms crystals which may twin according to several laws. The most common of these is the Carlsbad law, with a composition plane on 010 and with the vertical ‘c’ (or ‘z’) axis as twin axis. It is commonly an interpenetrant twin (penetration twin).
