B-chromosome
B-chromosome A chromosome that occurs in addition to the normal chromosome set (A-chromosomes) and to which it shows no homology. B-chromosomes occur widely in flowering plants, are devoid of functional genes, and display an irregular, non-Mendelian, mode of inheritance.
