ABBA MARI BEN ISAAC OF ST. GILLES

ABBA MARI BEN ISAAC OF ST. GILLES (near Lunel, southern France; c. 1165), bailiff or agent of Count Raymond vi of Toulouse (pakid ha-shilton Ramon). He is mentioned by the 12th-century traveler *Benjamin of Tudela, who met him in St. Gilles. Possibly Abba Mari was the father of *Isaac b. Abba Mari, author of the legal codex Ittur.
