Lange, Christian Louis

Christian Louis Lange (krĬs´tyän lōō´ē läng´ə), 1869–1938, Norwegian pacifist. In his youth he joined the Young Norway movement and worked for the separation of Norway from Sweden. He taught in the Norwegian Nobel Institute, represented his country at the Hague Conference of 1907 and at the League of Nations, and was secretary (1909–33) of the Interparliamentary Union. Lange shared the 1921 Nobel Peace Prize with Hjalmar Branting.
