Kinross-shire
Kinross-shire or Kinross, former county, E Scotland. Under the Local Government Act of 1973, Kinross-shire became (1975) part of the new Tayside region. In the local government reorganization of 1996, Tayside was dissolved and the territory of the former Kinross-shire was incorporated into the council area of Perth and Kinross.
