Sabra and Shatila Martyrs Group
SABRA AND SHATILA MARTYRS GROUP
One of a number of small Palestinian resistance groups that sprung up in the Occupied Territories during the al-Aqsa Intifada, which began in late September 2000. These groups, collectively known as al-Tanzim ("organization"), are under the leadership of a younger generation of Palestinians who mainly grew up under the occupation. This group was named in honor of the victims of the Sabra and Shatila massacre at the Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut in 1982.
