HAYAT, AL- ("life", in Arabic)
Lebanese newspaper, founded in 1946. Its editor in chief, Kamil Mruweh, was assassinated in 1966. The newspaper ceased publication from 1975 to 1988 and resurfaced in 1989. Financed by Saudi sponsors, al-Hayat is published in Beirut, Cairo, London, Paris, and New York. It can be found online at http://www.daralhayat.com
