General Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists (GUPWJ)
GENERAL UNION OF PALESTINIAN WRITERS AND JOURNALISTS (GUPWJ)
A quasi-official organization of individual writers and journalists both in and outside Palestine. It has chapters in several foreign countries and is part of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). Like the other Palestinian General Unions, it is represented on the PLO's governing body, the Palestine National Council. It does not function as a trade union but as an association whose main focus is the national struggle.
