Prévost d'Exiles, Antoine François (1697–1763) ( L'abbé Prévost) French novelist who lived as, alternately, a Jesuit novice, soldier, and forger. His most famous work, Manon Lescaut (1731), is the seventh novel of a series Mémoires et aventures d'un homme de qualité (1728–31).
