Dunwich, diocese of. Felix from Luxueil in Burgundy converted the East Angles in the 630s and established his episcopal seat at Dunwich, then a thriving port on the Suffolk coast. He died in 647. In c.673 Theodore divided the see into two, placing Norfolk under the see of Elmham. After the Danish invasions in the 9th cent. Dunwich ceased to be active and was not revived.
