multi-media
multi-media Computer system that includes text, audio (sound), and video (graphics) components. Often the user can interact with the system to interrogate it or even to control or contribute to what is happening on screen. A multi-media product is usually produced on a CD-ROM, which has the necessary high storage capacity for the audio and graphics elements. A multi-media computer must have a CD-ROM drive, a high-resolution colour monitor, and a sound card.
