The WIFLE Scholarship Fund (Graduate, Postdoctorate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to women interested in law enforcement careers. Focus: Law enforcement. Qualif.: Applicants must be U.S. citizens; must be full-time students at an accredited four-year college or university, or a fully accredited community college with the intention of transferring to a four-year degree; must have completed at least one full academic year of college work; must major in Criminal Justice or a related discipline such as social sciences, public administration, computer science, finance, linguistic arts, chemistry, or physics leading to a four-year degree; have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average (GPA). Criteria: Recipients will be selected based on academic potential, achievement and commitment to serving communities in the field of law enforcement.

Funds Avail.: $2,500. To Apply: Applicants must complete the application with a 500-word essay describing the applicant's involvement in a community project and the results or impact of that involvement to the community. If the applicant is currently serving or has served an internship with a law enforcement agency, preferably a federal law enforcement agency, the applicant must provide details including the name of the agency, the dates served and the value of the experience and the accomplishment through the internship in a 500-word essay. Applicants must have at least one community leader or member of a community or police official sponsor their applications with a written statement of support. Deadline: May 1.
