Sonia S. Maguire Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Awards (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support to college seniors or graduate students who have demonstrated sustained academic excellence in a demanding study program. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants or one of their parents must be Swiss nationals; must be domiciled in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania or Delaware; must demonstrate the need for financial support; must be in good academic standing and show aptitude in their chosen fields of study. Criteria: Applicants are selected based on the committee's review of the application materials.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Application forms can be downloaded at the SBSNY web site. Applicants must submit the following required documents: general and scholastic pages of application packet; official transcripts of all high school, college and graduate grades when applying for the first time, official updates thereafter; SAT or GRE results when applying for the first time; proof of Swiss citizenship of applicant or one parent when applying for the first time; proof of U.S. citizenship or visa status when applying for the first time; two letters of recommendation from professors in the applicant's major area of study, on official letterhead. Medicus Student Exchange (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide partial financial support for U.S. residents at the junior, senior or graduate college level who have been accepted to study at a Swiss University or Federal Institute of Technology. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be residents of the United States and must be in good academic standing and show aptitude in their chosen fields of study. Criteria: Applicants are selected based on the committee's review of the application materials.

Applicants must submit the following required documents: general and scholastic pages of application packet; official transcripts of all high school, college and graduate grades when applying for the first time, official updates thereafter; SAT or GRE results when applying for the first time; proof of Swiss citizenship of applicant or one parent when applying for the first time; proof of U.S. citizenship or visa status when applying for the first time; letter of acceptance from Swiss University or Federal Institute of Technology or Technical College; two letters of recommendation from professors in the applicant's major area of study, on official letterhead; proof of proficiency in the language of instruction; statement of sufficient total funding. For studies in the U.S.: official transcript of records of at least one year of study in the U.S.; transcripts of education in Switzerland; letter of recommendation from a professor in the applicant's major area of study, on official letterhead. Pellegrini Scholarships (Graduate, Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support to post-secondary school level students for vocational, undergraduate or graduate academic studies at an accredited school. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants or one of their parents must be Swiss nationals; must be domiciled in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania or Delaware; must demonstrate the need for financial support; must be in good academic standing and show aptitude in their chosen fields of study. Criteria: Applicants are selected based on need and academic merit.

Applicants must submit the following required documents: general and scholastic pages of application packet; official transcripts of all high school, college and graduate grades when applying for the first time, official updates thereafter; SAT or GRE results when applying for the first time; proof of Swiss citizenship of applicant or one parent when applying of the first time; proof of U.S. citizenship or visa status when applying for the first time; financial pages of application packet, including all requested information, unless applying for merit portion only; signed copy of all pages and schedules of Federal Income Tax returns, and of W-2 forms of applicant and supporting party and/or spouse, where applicable; proof of cost for tuition and room and board, copy of bursar's bill (high school applicants provide figures of anticipated cost); letter of reference from a high school principal or a guidance counselor, or from a professor in the applicant's major area of study, on official letterhead. Zimmermann Scholarships (Graduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial assistance to graduate students with the highest cumulative grade point average. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants or one of their parents must be Swiss nationals. Applicants must be domiciled in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania or Delaware. Applicants must be in good academic standing and show aptitude in their chosen fields of study. Criteria: Applicants are selected based on the committee's review of the application materials.
