Independent, 4-year, women only. Awards bachelor's degrees. Founded 1881. Setting: 32-acre urban campus. Endowment: $219.4 million. Research spending 2003-04: $4.8 million. Costs Per Year:

Application fee: $35. Comprehensive fee: $24,400 includes full-time tuition ($13,525), mandatory fees ($2420), and college room and board ($8455). Part-time tuition: $565 per credit hour.

Collegiate Environment:

Orientation program. Drama-theater group, choral group, student-run newspaper. Social organizations: national sororities; 15% of eligible undergrads are members.
