New Jersey Psychological Association Scholarships for Minority Graduate Students (Postgraduate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support the needs of underserved communities through research or service. Focus: Psychology. Qualif.: Applicants must be graduate students enrolled at at a New Jersey university or college at the master's or doctoral level of study, or an intern at a New Jersey facility; must be minority group members as defined by federal guidelines; must be students in good standing at their college or university. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on social significance of the study, scientific rigor of the study, originality of the study, feasibility and clarity of written expression.
Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit four copies of a 1,000-1,500 word project proposal to the NJPA Foundation; must submit a completed application form; must substantiate his/her claim to minority status according to federal guidelines. Deadline: July 14.
Dorothy D. Palmer Scholarship for the Study of Optimal Aging in Women (Postdoctorate/Scholarship)
Purpose: To support the training of psychologists. Focus: Psychology. Qualif.: Applicants must be doctoral students enrolled in a New Jersey university. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on demonstrated interest in gerontology and women's studies, and attitude in working with aging women at a comprehensive retirement facility.
Funds Avail.: $5,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a brief statement of professional goals as well as specific training goals consistent with the nature of the scholarship; must submit a completed application form. Deadline: July 14.
