Monroe Community College was founded in 1961. It is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. It first offered distance learning courses in 1997. In fall 2004, there were 2, 032 students enrolled in distance learning courses. Institutionally administered financial aid is available to distance learners.
