Description:

Independent United Methodist, 4-year, coed. Awards bachelor's degrees. Founded 1843. Setting: 50-acre urban campus with easy access to Memphis. Endowment: $6.4 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $4929 per student. Total enrollment: 806. Student-undergrad faculty ratio is 12:1. 1,260 applied, 62% were admitted. 18% from top 10% of their high school class, 41% from top quarter, 71% from top half. 15 class presidents, 6 valedictorians, 33 student government officers. Full-time: 769 students, 50% women, 50% men. Part-time: 37 students, 65% women, 35% men.
