Hettie M. Anthony Fellowships (Postdoctorate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To provide funding support for a study and research in family and consumer sciences or one of its specializations at colleges or universities with strong research programs and supporting disciplines for the chosen major topic. Focus: Science; Home Economics. Qualif.: Applicants must have demonstrated interest in research; must be enrolled in a master's program in home economics or one of the specializations in a university that has strong research program with supporting disciplines in the area of research interest. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the demonstrated interest in research; relevance of study and/or research to significant concerns related to home and family; potential for professional leadership; demonstrated scholarship; enrollment in a master's program in home economics or one of the specializations in a university that has a strong research program with supporting disciplines in the area of research interest; and current active membership in Kappa Omicron Nu.

Funds Avail.: $2,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit five copies of the application form, type or printed along with three letters of recommendations from persons that can represent the applicant's scholarship, research, and potential for professional leadership. Deadline: April 15.

Marjorie M. Brown Fellowships Program (Postdoctorate/Fellowship)

Purpose: To support research projects intending to continue Brown's Philosophical work using critical social theory, demonstrating understanding of Brown's Philosophical Studies and other recent pieces of work and their ongoing significance for the FCS/Human Sciences profession. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be Ph.D. or D.Ed. students seeking doctoral degrees from accredited

U.S. institutions of higher education; tenure track professors seeking support for a research agenda using critical social theory; or associate professors or professors seeking support for the design and implementation of a graduate course that teaches a critical science research approach. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the evaluation of the Award Committee.

Funds Avail.: Total amount of $10,000. To Apply: Applicants must submit a cover page; 100 words or less abstract; introduction of the research including background, need for the study, and statement of the objectives; Review of literature; method including research design, plan of work, approach to analysis; literature citations and supplementary materials; and Applicants' five copies of the application form. Deadline: January 15.

Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society Scholars Program Grants (Undergraduate/Grant)

Purpose: To recognize and encourage excellence in scholarship, research, and leadership at the local level. Focus: General studies. Qualif.: Applicants must be individuals who maintain good standing in the society and must be conducting undergraduate and/or graduate research. Criteria: Recipients are selected based on the research; service learning including reflection about the impact on professional development; excellence in communication both oral and written; leadership of a campus or unit change project; and overall record of achievement.
