Description:

Independent Southern Baptist, comprehensive, coed. Awards associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Founded 1851. Setting: 90-acre small town campus with easy access to Knoxville. Endowment: $30.1 million. Educational spending 2003-04: $4967 per student. Total enrollment: 2,053. Faculty: 198 (124 full-time, 74 part-time). Recreational activities include fishing, water skiing, swimming, and boating at Cherokee and Douglas Lakes, a short drive away. Skiing is available in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
