Public Interest Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To help offset high cost of law school education. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Candidates must be enrolled in a California law school or must have completed at least one year of study at a California law school (the candidates' law school must certify good ethical standing of the candidate while attending law school and must also attest to the candidate's financial need); must maintain at least a 2.5 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale (or provide an explanation of extenuating circumstances if GPA is lower than 2.5). Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.

Funds Avail.: No specific amount. To Apply: Applicants must accomplish complete application package which includes: application; certification and authorization form (which includes certification of non-relationship, authorization t use information, name and likeness and consent and authorization to obtain information); resume; personal statement describing the candidate's commitment to and plans for a legal career in public service (not to exceed 400 words); three letters of recommendation; law school transcript; certification of financial need; certification of ethical standing and statement of nomination; and optional statement of financial circumstances. Rosenthal Bar Exam Scholarships (Undergraduate/Scholarship)

Purpose: To provide financial support for outstanding graduating California law students who are embarking on careers in public service law. Focus: Law. Qualif.: Candidates must be graduating or have graduated from a California law school; must be taking the California Bar Exam for the first time; and must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA or equivalent on a 4.0 scale (or provide an explanation of extenuating circumstances if GPA is lower than 2.5). Criteria: Selection will be based on the committee's criteria.
