Wells, Simon de
Wells, Simon de (fl. 1240–57). English sculptor. He was very likely the carver of the statues on the west front of Wells Cathedral, Somerset, and was in Westminster in 1257 making a design for the tomb of Katherine, King Henry II's (1220–72) daughter.
