Stephenson, Stephen (fl. c.1387–1400). English mason. He worked at the great Abbey at Batalha, Portugal (begun 1388), under Affonso Domingues (fl. 1387–d. 1402). There are so many English influences in the architecture that Stephenson must have made a major contribution to the design.
