Stella, Paolo della
Stella, Paolo della (d. 1552). Italian architect of the beautiful Belvedere ( Queen Anne's Pavilion), Hradčany, Prague (1535–63), completed by Hans Tirol (c.1505–c.1575) and Bonifaz Wohlmut (fl. 1522–before 1579). It is an essay in pure Cinquecento, consisting of a rectangular block surrounded by an elegant Ionic arcade, and is uniquely sophisticated for its time and location.
