Larsen, Henning Göbel (1925– ). Danish architect. He established his practice in Copenhagen in 1956, and built the Primary School, Søllerød (1958) with each classroom a separate pavilion with its own courtyard. He developed an approach to architecture based on flexibility, to allow change and adaptation. Among his works are the Høje Tåstrup Grammar School, near Copenhagen (1978–82), the Gentofte Library, Copenhagen (1979–84), the Danish Embassy, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (1982–6), the Faculty Building, Free University, Berlin (1982–8), the Conference Centre, Churchill College, Cambridge (1994), and a Congress Centre, Esbjerg (1982–8). He won the competition to design the Opera House, Compton Verney, near Kineton, Warwicks. (1989), a proposal so far unrealized.
