Elementarism

Elementarism. Term used by van Doesberg to describe the use of planes and colours in architecture, notably by Mies van der Rohe, van Eesteren, and Rietveld. Good examples of Elementarism are the Schröder House, Utrecht (1921–4), and Mies van der Rohe's brick villa (1923) and Barcelona Pavilion (1928–9).
