SIDELIGHTS:

Barbara B. Rollins told CA: "I have loved to write for many years but began seriously writing in 1995 while mentoring a sixth-grade student. She and I discussed the book, and she read chapters as I completed them. My main character was a twelve-year-old girl who shared her name and physical description. From that point, I've gone on to write in various forms, including poetry, articles, and fiction for adults and children.

"As a judge, I find often I have spare time while waiting for lawyers or when scheduled hearings are cancelled, and that time is my primary writing time."
