SIDELIGHTS: Peter Kline once told CA: "I feel two basic needs as a writer. One is to educate: to provide new information about how to do something or how to enjoy something. I am deeply involved professionally in developing new teaching methods and approaches to education, and in the future my books will reflect more and more of these. I am also concerned more widely with our society's failure to make effective use of its human resources and its knowledge. For example, my wife's recovery from terminal cancer by unorthodox means will be the subject for a future book.

"The second is to explore: through fiction, drama, and philosophy to probe the nature and depths of the human spirit. . . . Since my early writing was simplistic and lacking in emotional depth I sought self exploration through optometric training, re-evaluation counseling and mind control."
