OBITUARY NOTICE—See index for CA sketch: Born December 14, 1950, in El Dorado, AR; died February 14, 2006, in El Dorado, AR. Accountant and author. While working as an accountant, Fitzgerald was a co-host for thirty years at the annual Jivin' Jacks and Jills Hollywood Reunion. A 1972 graduate of what is now South Arkansas University, he joined Southwestern Electric Power Co. in Shreveport, Louisiana, that year as an accountant. Fitzgerald was a fan of Hollywood films, especially those produced by Universal Studios, and in his spare time published Universal Pictures: A Panoramic History in Words, Pictures, and Filmographies (1977). He also helped host the annual reunion of Universal Studios players in Studio City, California, for many years. A contributor to movie-related periodicals such as Filmfax, Fitzgerald wrote columns for Western Clippings that led to two more books, written with Boyd Magers: Westerns Women: Interviews with 50 Leading Ladies of Movie and Television Westerns from the 1930s to the 1960s (1999) and Ladies of the Western: Interviews with Fifty-one More Actresses from the Silent Era to the Television Westerns of the 1950s and 1960s (2001).
