Born July 7, 1948, in Beloit, WI; son of Amos L. and Anna Mae Elder; married Brenda Kay Olson, August 23, 1969; children: Seth Wade, Wade Alexander. Ethnicity: "Caucasian (57 varieties)." Education: Northern Illinois University, B.S., 1971, M.S., 1974; Wichita State University, M.F.A., 1977. Politics: "Libertarian-Anarchist." Religion: "Raised Methodist."
