Soloist after 1946 with leading orchs., making speciality of modern concs., esp. those by Szymanowski and Britten. Has toured internationally since 1955. Salzburg Fest. début 1962. Gave f.p. of Penderecki's Capriccio, 1967. Settled in West, 1983.
