Tulindberg, Erik (Eriksson)
Tulindberg, Erik (Eriksson), Finnish composer; b. Lillkyro, Feb. 22,1761; d. Åbo, Sept. 1,1814. He studied academic disciplines at the Åbo Academy, obtaining the degree of Magister Philosophiae in 1782. He subsequently was a municipal functionary, music being his avocation. He learned to play the violin, and owned a large library, including works of Mozart, Haydn, and Boccherini. In 1797 he was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. He wrote a Violin Concerto and 6 string quartets in the traditional style of the Viennese School.
