Trombetti (real name, Cavallari), Giro-Lamo

Trombetti (real name, Cavallari), Giro-lamo, Italian singer, trombonist, and composer, brother of Ascanio Trombetti; b. Bologna (baptized), Dec. 7,1557; d. there, 1624. He was a singer at the Santa Casa in Loreto from 1566 to 1575. From 1582 he was a civic trombonist. In 1591 he succeeded his brother as maestro di cappella at S. Giovanni in Monte, a position he retained until his death. He publ. a vol. of madrigals (Venice, 1590).
