Szidon, Roberto

Szidon, Roberto, Brazilian pianist of Hungarian descent; b. Porto Alegre, Sept. 21, 1941. He gave a concert in his native city at the age of 9; later studied in N.Y. with Arrau. He then toured in the U.S., South America, and Europe as soloist with the leading orchs. and in recitals. Szidon was especially successful as a champion of the Romantic repertoire.
