Socor, Matei

Socor, Matei, Romanian composer; b. Iaşi, Sept. 28, 1908; d. Bucharest, May 30, 1980. He studied theory with Castaldi at the Bucharest Cons. (1927–29) and composition with Karg-Elert at the Leipzig Cons. (1930–33). He then was active as a composer and teacher in his homeland.
