Rodwin, David , American composer; b. New Rochelle, N.Y., Oct. 22, 1970. He studied politics (A.B., 1992) and also took music courses with Steven Mackey at Princeton Univ., then took courses at the Juilliard School of Music in N.Y. (1993). He also studied with Amnon Wolman and Michael Pisaro at Northwestern Univ. (M.M., 1995), and attended a professional film scoring workshop at the Univ. of Calif, at Los Angeles (1996); also studied dance and clowning. He has also directed a number of plays, including Peter Shaffer’s Amadeus (1991) and Eric Bentley’s Are You Now or Have You Ever Been (1992) at Princeton Univ., where he also directed the men’s a cappella group, The Princeton Tigertones. Rodwin composes most effectively for the theater, and often performs in his own works. In 1996 he settled in Los Angeles, where he became active with ASK Theatre Project’s first Composer/Playwright Studio.
