Rehm, Wolfgang
Rehm, Wolfgang , German musicologist; b. Munich, Sept. 3, 1929. He studied with Gurlitt and Zenck at the Univ. of Freiburg im Breisgau (Ph.D., 1952, with the diss. Das Chansonwerk von Gilles Binchois), and also studied theory and piano at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg im Breisgau. In 1954 he joined the publishing firm of Barenreiter in Kassel, eventually becoming chief ed.; held that position until 1982. In 1960 he was named co-ed, (with Wolfgang Plath) of the Neue Mozart-Ausgabe, serving as chief ed. from 1981 to 1994, and then was chief ed. (1981–94).
