Pilinski, Stanislaw
Pilinski, Stanislaw, French pianist, organist, conductor, and composer of Polish descent; b. Paris, April 5, 1839; d. there, Jan. 20, 1905. After training at Niderm-eyer’s École de Musique Religeuse in Paris, he served as organist at Ste. Marguerite and later conducted the Polish Phil. Soc. He composed an opera, Zmija (The Viper, 1881), a Sym. (1896) and other orch. works, choral pieces, chamber music, and innumerable keyboard pieces.
