Pasini, Laura

Pasini, Laura, Italian soprano; b. Gallarate, Jan. 28, 1894; d. Rome, Sept. 30, 1942. She studied piano with Appiano at the Milan Cons., and made her debut as a pianist in Rome in 1912. After vocal training from Pietro at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, she made her operatic debut as Zerlina in Fra Diavolo at Milan’s Teatro Eden in 1921. She sang in Rome (1922–23), at Milan’s La Scala (1923–26; 1930–31) and Buenos Aires’s Teatro Colon (1925), and in Turin (1925–27), Salzburg (1931), and Florence (1933) before settling in Cagliari as a voice teacher.
